Overview

ShaftPTO-200 Generator is a perfct companion for small and medium size yachts. This model generates over 5kWh of energy in 24 hours. Practically it means you can power autopilot, navigation and communication equipment, refrigeration, lights and even run a watermaker for a few hours. 

Power generation starts at 4.5 knots of boats speed and reaches full rated output at 5.5-6 knots.

ShaftPTO-200 installation is trivial and typically takes less than an hour for entire installation. This project can be accomplished by a cruiser with basic DIY skills. Once properly installed ShaftPTO-200 generator will run for thousands of hours with zero maintenance

 

 

Installation Considerations

 

ShaftPTO-200 model "clamped on" over existing shafts with diameters from 25 - 35mm. Minimum 100mm of shaft need to be available to position the generator (see dimension drawings link). 

Prop shaft has to be in good condition: dents, irregular surface, corroded or pitted shafts will likely result in poor installation.

Unit retainer link has to be mounted in an appropriate position (see drawing link). The link can be glued or screwed to the bulkhead / engine supports etc. For convenience of installation retainer arm can be adjusted to 30-90cm length.
